The design of the DropDrum™ allows for lots of sounds and different uses. One of the unique aspects of this design is that it has a bass reflex tube that leads the bass sound upwards so that it comes out toward the player. The bass sound can therefore go into the same mic as the sound from the head/playing surface. Thanks to the bass reflex tube it has a very rich bass sound and together with the conga-like sounds from the head, this makes it a perfect substitute for a lot of different drums like conga/djembe/timbao.
It can be mounted on a normal snare stand, positioned between the knees like bongo drums, or placed over the lap and fastened under the legs with the included strap.
