The Sundrum™ is equipped with a piezo system with 12 individual piezo pickups.
Sundrum™ is a unique wooden tunable tongue drum created by Valter Kinbom. Its 12 beautifully designed tongues can be tuned with our patented Magnetic Tuning System from the highest note xx down to xx , so the range is quite extensive and allows you to use the Sundrum™ as a bass instrument or higher pitched. The sound is a mix between a marimba and a kalimba and the sustain is perfect for fast rhythmic melody playing.
The Sundrum™ can be played by fingers or with mallets and many different sounds can be achieved depending on how and where you strike each tongue.
It plays perfectly live and in the studio with external mics, but we recommend you to also use the built-in piezo mic system as it offers more sonic possibilities. With the piezo mic system, you can use it along with any effects and tweak the sound as you wish.
